I looked at a few reviews and that's basically the gist of it. Since they are using realistic characters, they can't make them emote as much. They can't make a realistic CG lion do a big cartoonish face, that would look weird. Another huge mistake is that it's kinda tough to distinguish Mufasa, Simba and Scar from each other. Kids need that distinction to make an emotional connection. Yeah Disney will make a lot of money, but the dropoff from week 1 to week 2 will be enormous. It has no legs to survive anything beyond a month long run in theaters. Not to mention the nostalgia factor that Disney is banking on, will only apply to 30-40 year olds.
