1. How is the original Resident Evil? I've *never* played it (oh noes!). I know it's considered a classic by many.

2. Okay. Resident Evil Zero. Is it more like the first three main games, i.e. slow and puzzley, or more like the second three main games, i.e. actionary and with the occasion scare?

It's funny. I've played plenty of Resident Evil, with 4 on the GC, 5 and 6 on the 360, and I think a lightgun game on the Wii, but because I never had a PS1, I never got the chance to play the first three games. Feels like I missed out, sadly.

You mean the re-re-make, right? Isn't there the original remake (so to speak) on the Gamecube, and the new one on 8th gen consoles?

1. Remake of 1 is imo one of the best games ever made IF you are into those types of games. its a very slow paced game with technically archaic controls and perspective now (still easy yo get used to and the new control system can help). lots of item management, lots of backtracking, lots of exploration, lots of puzzle solving. still amazing atmosphere and sound design that holds up. its a slow burn type of game. the REmake on this/last gen consoles are basically an uprezed version of the original gamecube title (with the added control scheme and some costumes). basically the same things.

2. its like the original 3 with imo some extra annoying bullshit thrown in.

if you plan to play 2 id also recommend playing the original before going into the remake. they are pretty different while Re1 and REmake 1 still hold similar fundamentals.
