Combat and character customization are key to me, and if I don't actually need to customize my characters, improve equipment and use strategy, I don't care how good the story is. Id' rather read a good book, then play a story based video game any day. I play video games to...well play video games. To gain power, to use abilities, to kill things etc. So shrug, I'll wait and see, Imight get it on sale eventually. If you go in looking for 8 distinct, unrelated stories and don't mind a whole lot of ludonarrative dissonance here and there (why are a proud knight and a pious cleric helping a thief break into a mansion and steal treasure?), it's a very solid game.
