Subway is better than quiznos. Theyve actually improved quite a bit in the past few years with the quality of their ingredients.

Sandwich shop hierarchy for Canada:

1. Mucho burrito
2. Mr sub (their superior rib sub)
3. Badass Jack's
4. Subway
5. Quiznos
6. Anything else
7. Tim hortons sandwiches

They're fine for cheaper subs. Once you get into the $9+ range there are too many better options.

A few years ago I lived in walking distance to one so I would go there every so often. It's not terrible for fast food but its also pretty meh.

It's better than Port of Subs and Jimmy John's tbh, but that's not saying much.

I haven't had Subway in years but I used to have it a few times a week when I worked right by one.

I thought it was pretty good. But to be fair, I don't exactly have very high standards when it come to food.

Their bread is fucking nasty. Better than Quiznos? What? Quiznos actually uses an oven and not some microwave/oven hybrid to toast your sub. Quiznos was just too damn expensive.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates Jimmy Johns, I been there 1 time and they lettuce'd my sub the fuck up. Hardly any meats.....just lettuce.

I don't really go to sub shops in general. Not because I don't like them, but I feel like they could easily be made at home. If I'm going to spend money on going out at all it's going to be a bowl of orange chicken or a big gooey pizza or something. My husband recently started going to the Firehouse near our house and I can't believe he drops 8 or 10 bucks a pop on that stuff.

Subway was all downhill after abandoning the 'wedge' cut.

Theyre my go-to. Their cheaper subs are much cheaper than their competitors and are a nice alternative to the comparatively-priced greasy burger/taco chains.

If I want something good I get a Steak and Cheese which is perfection if its prepared well.

The problem I have with other chains is that they tend to specialize in one area to the detriment of everything else. Quiznos is all about sauce, to the point that you can never taste any of the actual sandwich parts, E&G and Jimmy Johns both have great bread, but meh everything else. Subway has pretty good ingredients across the board.

The biggest problem with Subway, as eluded to earlier, is that the quality of your sandwich depends greatly on the person preparing it. A lot of people will put on way too much lettuce or will put your sauce on like a hotdog so only the outside has any on it. This is generally a minor concern though.

Jimmy Johns always has that sign in the window that says Free Smells, it sounds so unappetizing. Why not free aromas or something like that?

When they used to have their $5 sandwiches it was a fair deal. Nowadays its too expensive for what you get. I can go somewhere else and get a whole mea, with fries soda and a cookie for the cheaper than the cost of one of their sandwiches

Im also someone who likes more of a plain sub (ie meat/cheese, minimal veggies like black olives and/or a couple onions, sauce), so the allure of all the different shit you can put on your sandwich doesnt appeal to me tbh.

I totally get it. I'm the same way but at the drive-thru. Not matter what I always have to go inside and order, even if I'm getting something to go. Something about looking at a drive-thru menu just makes my brain go sideways and I don't know why. I get all nervous and stuttery and feel like I have to hurry up.

What other sub shops? Maybe its because of the type of subs I like but Ive been underwhelmed by other sub places in the past. Subway isnt amazing but its consistent and there are a few things there I like.
