I imagine the game will be very similar to the first, not sure why people are so stoked for it.

I put in nearly 200 hours between the Wii U and 3DS version and this one looks even better. Definitely will be GotY contender.

It is fun to watch some of the levels. My brother had the game. And I tried. But it was kind of hard. Like some of those levels are crazy. Watching certain people play, Im sure I couldnt beat most of the levels. Haha.

Still better than the poor online portion of Super Mario Maker 2. Needing NSO, even IF you just only plan to upload/download levels? Being restricted to random people during online play? Blah!!

That said, it's looking to be GOTY material for me, though Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Brave Dungeon: The Meaning of Justice are in on it as well for me.

Their reason is that they don't want the leaderboards to be affected by friends colluding, which is a pretty dumb reason when they could just make online play with friends be unranked.

I'm looking forward to this game. I'm not very good at this kind of stuff but I think I can get better.

I'll skip making some of the B.S. I see people made to irritate or frustrate. Stick with a theme or a few things in a level instead of trying to cram everything in for the sake of cramming it in too

Even though I love Mario Ive never been interested in the Maker games. Im not creative enough and dont want to wade through shit to get to the good parts. I also generally dont like playing something thats fan made.

You can always play the good levels. Like the ones people made for others. Or wait. Usually, the better levels will start to outshine the others...

I really don't understand why Nintendo and Japanese games in general have terrible online features, the West has been doing them perfectly fine for over 10 years now and yet Nintendo can't figure out that we just want to play games with friends in a fast and easy way. Instead we still have friend codes and limited online features.

I dont see the problem with friend codes. those work well. But I think its the Japanese gamers... Not trying to sound racist or anything. But they are always finding ways to break games crazy fast. Or ways to bend the rules. And I think they are usually dealing with them...

Because you can't memorize something like that? Well you can but what's easier to remember. "Yeah, my username is Cruddy Horse", or "Hey, my friend code is 1578-9132-7582"? I shouldn't need to memorize something like a phone number for video games.

Also the second part of your post doesn't have anything to do with online features not being included or poorly implemented

The worst thing about friend codes is they moved away from them and had real accounts with usernames to share for the Wii U, and decided the regress for the switch. Switch online as a whole is big step back from the Wii U, and they have the gall to charge for it now.

I like friend codes because ita usually easier to deal with. And I dont have to worry about my name being taken. Or people adding a bunch of numbers, Xs, or random letters to make their name different from the person who used it first. I like friend codes much better then the normal user name. Its also easy to put your friend code in an easy location. Most of the time, I exchange friend code through text. I can put it on annoyed page to easily access it to send to a friend, anyway.

The second was me explaining why I think its implemented poorly. Theyre probably trying to figure out ways to implement it with the Japanese gamer groups breaking it somehow. Even on the boards, I use to hear about how the Japanese gamers were always finding a way to do weird random things in games. Since thats where the company is based out of, I was thinking maybe it has something to do with that...

It's really not hard to find a simple, easy to remember username, all my friends have one.

When stuff is written like that, it can be pretty hard to remember. And most usernames, for some reason, seem to contain lots of Xs. Sometimes, there are some letters that are numbers, as well... But not all... Personally, I prefer friend codes. I can understand liking usernames better. But I dont think usernames are always easier to remember. I usually have them send it to me. Also, typing it in is usually more of a task. Moving around a qwerty keyboard with a controller takes much longer than moving around a keypad with a controller...
