So this is kind of an odd response in itself. But the fact that you actually felt the need to reassure me you go to the range by namedropping one of the guns you shoot says you probably care a little more that what you're letting on.

It's cool you shoot at the range, man. But your opinion on this is definitely of the minority. Your post was ignorant. Shit happens. But since you don't really care

It really goes back to the whole reading comprehension thing that you initially brought up. I dont care about your bs attempt at a logical fallacy, by saying I committed a copout. (which I didnt). It's easy to get confused when you take the quote out of context like you did. You're conflating my lack of caring of a simple point to the entire argument.

It takes 2 seconds to clear a gun and make it safe. It is no longer able to shoot with no bullets. Should you aim a gun without successfully clearing it? No.

Your desire to be a safety n*** along with the "majority" is irrelevant to that very fact. (Guns dont work without bullets)

No.

When it comes to guns that is always a great rule. Guns arent toys theres never a reason to start pointing it at someone else or yourself regardless of wether its loaded.

Its literally common sense.

If you clear and gun and don't know if its still loaded or not, you probably shouldn't be around guns. Or simply spend the 2 seconds to confirm.

*unloads gun*

5 seconds later

Hey let's take a quick picture with this gun*

Is it loaded?

Except I'm not, because I know how to handle guns. A parked car doesn't start until you turn it on. I'm not scared of hitting someone because I put my foot on the gas.

No, the word "unless" doesn't exist in the context of gun handling.

Maybe this is just a difference in attitude with me learning gun handling in the military, vs you (i'm assuming) civilian.
But if i know i just cleared my gun, and pointed it someone right after, my Commander would most likely take the gun away and toss me out of there.

She was wearing the uniform of the school in that pic and was pointing it at the camera like that. Not something that should be suspended over, but that was definitely one of the dumbest things you can do when holding a gun. Never point it at a person, hence why anytime I take pictures with a gun in hand I tend to either point it up or have it in my gun holster.

I disagree obviously, but I respect your ability to at least argue in an honest way.

If you've confirmed that there aren't any bullets in a gun and you're posing with a consenting party, there really isnt an issue what so ever. It's literally how Hollywood works. They use a mix of real guns with others that have the firing pins removed, or guns that fire blanks. There's a mix depending on the scene and whats needed. There's literally no way to know if the gun is dangerous or not sometimes and you still need to make sure its cleared.

Some are Ok with it but maybe it was just my professors and the people around the clinics that are very uptight about sterility and cleaniness.

I think it's one of those things where you're expected to use your best judgment in regards to cleanliness. Working around patients with highly contagious diseases or got bodily fluid stains on your scrubs? Don't wear those to Walmart even after your shift. Wearing scrubs to class and grabbing a coffee during your break? Should be fine.

Is it not common for students, even those not doing clinicals yet, to wear scrubs at nursing school?

Yea it is common and I do it all the time. When I go to clinicals I wear them and I always bring my casual clothes to change after I get out.

I was also going to say that I seen people wearing them outside walking on the streets and in shopping centers as well. I was just shaking my head at the woman that wore hers to a dirty place like a shooting range.

I mean, I assume she would know not to go from the range to a clinical or to work in the same scrubs. I don't really see the problem if she went home and washed the scrubs after the range.
