Rarely does he ever reach for the kind of quality he is capable of delivering. The guy is talented as fuck and has the ability to do WAY better stuff than usually he does.

Like, The Orville is pretty damned good. Family Guy started off being pretty damn good, and American Dad too.

I'm not saying any of those are bad, they just feel like... lowest common denominator for the amount of talent he has?

the humor gets increasingly lazy with just cutting away to jokes instead of actually having the jokes naturally come around from the situation
it's a shame, since even when cutting away for a joke the old episodes did it better since they didn't reset the momentum of the plot every single time by restarting or immediately ending the previous scene
jokes also were also way better-paced and typically more grounded within the episode itself, making them a lot more rapid-fire and actually funny
nowadays it's just really slow with not even the same level of angry edge or self-deprecation that it used to have a few seasons ago

american dad somehow manages to be more edgy and obnoxious than a modern family guy episode

He seems to like to change his focus alot. It started on family guy and that was great. He tried movies and the first Ted was pretty good. Now the orville wich is also quite enjoyable. I'm sure he will focus on something else soon.

Honestly, he does a lot of low brow crude humor but you got to hand it to the guy for market saturation. He pretty much dominates Fox. I mean think back before the Cleveland Show got cancelled and American Dad was still on Fox--he had three of the four shows in the biggest two hour block on television, Simpsons being the other show. The boy must being rolling in the Benjamins.
