As the name implies, the show will have kids on it, but they will be lead by Adam Savage.

If you weren't aware, they previously tried rebooting Mythbusters again with new hosts (who got the position through a reality show competition) after the original show ended, but the show was cancelled before they even finished airing all the episodes they made (I assume because it wasn't received very well).

I would probably watch MB if it was more Adam and Jamie, but I don't even remotely give a fuck about a bunch of kids.

Adam and Jamie were the glue of that show. But Kari, Grant, and Tory made it a full deal. When they got dropped the show was on its way out.

Discovery needs to take a hint and realize for better or worse they killed their money show (although Jamie was probably ready to move on).

Only if they agree to bust the myth that I was a warmongering ignoramus. The facts are available in credible print and I suggest they devote a special episode to it.

I guess not only am I not their demographic, but I'm not in their target ad demo either.

Myth Busters for kids? No thanks. They already went through all the interesting myths in the first several seasons of the show. They were really reaching in the last few. I'm just not interested anymore. Especially not in a version for kids.

Adam's been talking about this on Twitter and podcasts for months. For what it's worth, he seems really hyped. Though to be fair, he usually seems really hyped about most things, that's just his personality.

The show was already on its way out when they dropped them. That's like the whole reason why they did it, presumably to try to cut production costs since it wasn't going to just get a big viewership jump. And I always preferred the show when it was just Adam and Jamie but to be fair that might have more to do with them still having good myths and not being obsessed with explosions yet

That was only like the first season though. By season two the second team was forming and by three it was pretty much there. One cast member I did miss from early episodes was Scottie Chapman. She seemed like she knew her way around a shop and tools a lot better than Kari did.

I'd agree with this, but take it one step father. I'm not just disinterested in kids, they actively make me never want to watch it.

I like Jamie and Adam. I like Tory and Kari and Grant. But even if they brought all of them back and had them be in a show with a bunch of teenagers, I can't see it being anything other than utterly terrible.

(although Jamie was probably ready to move on)

Presumably, especially when they've mentioned in the past that Adam and Jamie basically hated each other behind the scenes, and barely interacted with each other at all for most of the last half-dozen seasons or so of the show. In spite of being literal co-owners of their business as well as co-hosts of the show.

I think a lot of their animosity was likely exacerbated when the bottom fell out of the special effects business, so nearly everything their company did other than Mythbusters slowly went away, until their entire financial situation depended on the show's success. Actual marriages have fallen apart over lesser financial troubles than that.

Pretty sure that's been the case since season 1 ended. I'd watch Adam and Jamie do just about anything short of pornography.
Mythbusters was just their shtick, so that's what I watched.

I wouldn't go as far as to say they hated each other. But at best just had a working relationship, and that was that. Given how both of them are on opposite sides of the personality spectrum I can see someone like Jamie not wanting to hang out with Adam which probably bummed Adam out (given how he always mentions they never went out together).
But yeah it was brought up that as CGI took over practical effects the shop got less work over the years. Jamie apparently still runs the shop and does robotics/contract work. So he is out doing that.

Yeah, it wasn't that they dislike each other per se, they just had completely different personalities and approaches to the business. Adam, for instance, likes to do things on the fly and figure stuff out as he goes, and Jamie is much more meticulous in his planning. That's pretty much the oil and water of visual FX right there. They did respect each other, but it was a purely professional relationship.

He's probably happy to be able to build fun things with a large budget again regardless of if the gimmick of the show is the kids.
