Fuck tooth abscesses and being too poor to get proper dental work done. Pain pills stopped working, just sitting here in pain. The worst I've ever experienced, just starting punching shit and sitting on the ground clutching the right side of my face.

If I was rich I'd open a free dental clinic. People shouldn't have to go through this. Why dental emergencies aren't treated like other health emergencies in this country (where they still treat you but bill you later) is beyond me.

Only thing that I found that works was some shit I put on my cheek that burned like hell but then faded away and took most the tooth pain with it. I actually been getting pain recently but it hasn't crazy spiked like it did last time.

The pain is subsiding a little, just took another ibuprofen pill. 600 mg total which I looked up and it's a safe dosage

Only thing that worked for me when this happened was hydrogen peroxide. It gave me very temporary, but adequate relief compared to anything else. Just take a big swig and rinse it around your mouth for 10 seconds or so and spit it all out, it sucks and tastes like shit, but it helped the pain immensely for me.

If it's abscessed to the point where your head is swelling, it is a medical emergency.

Its not swelling but the whole right side of my face was hurting it was pretty crazy.

Its called clove oil, you can get it real cheap in any drugstore.
Also try to brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with warm salt water

It just says "Pain Relief Balm ultra strength" it's a dollar store brand that my ma replaced with the one she gave me at first tho. She said it's the same but if it was I don't know why she would of traded me back for the original one >_>.

I will look into that and its actually two teeth (both on same side of face). one is a root canal tooth I got a long time ago that got infected

my cousin had a tooth infection or something that made his face look like a muppet. it took a couple days..he thought he can ride the pain. nope. he was in a lot of serious pain.

A while back I had a wisdom tooth shatter and I took so may excedrin that I puked blood. Had to get a loan to get it fixed.

One of the colleges nearby has free dental work performed by students under close supervision of the actual dentists teaching them. Could check if that's an option in your area.

Yep, worked miracles for me until I got to the dentist, and I could of saved it but I said hell no pull that fucker out. The hole in it was prefect for a single grain of rice in it to clog it up and make my face pound, like it felt like a heartbeat in my mouth the pain was that bad.

there is a school somewhat close to me but I'm sure they just do easy normal extractions. this will be a surgical one for sure. I need an oral surgeon

Yep, some of the worst pain imaginable. Dealt with infected wisdom teeth twice. Felt like I was getting kicked in the face with steel toed boots repeatedly (went to the hospital once and they gave me a shot of morphine and a fistful of opiates). The worst though was a molar that broke due to an impacted wisdom tooth putting too much pressure on it. Instead of getting it filled and capped I ignored it. Well it got infected so I went to the dentist to have it removed. Well the dentist decided to extract it without doing x-rays and while infected. I sobbed for an hour. Worst pain I ever experienced. Didn't even get the tooth out. Went to a different dentist 5 days later and they actually did x-rays, saw the tooth had a long hooked root and had to break it into multiple pieces to extract.

That woman dentist literally traumatised me.

Old time method that still works well.

1. Cut a piece of raw garlic in half.
2. Press the open side against the tooth.
3. Bite down on it and hold it there.

It will hurt like hell but the pain goes away pretty fast. It's not long-term relief but definitely helps in a pinch.

I've had the joy of a few toothaches. Worst was a front top one. The root became infected and the gum swelled up. Even so much as drawing breath in made it sting like hell. It no joke felt like a red hot ice pick being driven up behind my nose into the back of my right eye. Mind blowingly painful. Couldn't get a dentist appointment for about a week. Took about 4x the dosage of tylenol in the meantime which did nothing.
Ambesol right on the tooth and gum. And putting a cold pack on my face was the only thing that helped dull it. I swear though, when the dentist finally gave me that numbing shot I felt like I wanted to cry because it was the first relief in a week. Had to drain the infected root. Then wait about 2 weeks for the swelling to subside before he could do the root canal. I was on codeine by that point so I was fine.

That happened to me when I had an abcessed tooth once. And I'm a heavy sleeper.

Where do you live, TC? A lot of places have dental clinics where people can get work done at reduced rates or (sometimes) for free.

Get it pulled. There are places that do it dirt cheap/free if ur broke enough

Never take a partial course of antibiotics or it could make things much worse.
