It did sorta seem to just launch out of nowhere. I also hear that fans of the series are not enjoying it very much.

It's pretty ok. It feels like it's from a different time. Like someone went back in time to 2003 to develop it. In a way I admire that.

I read an article saying that it was recently patched so that the gameplay is more in line with the older Darksiders games. The fact that it wasn't to begin with makes me worry what else might be wrong with the game

i heard about it a while ago and its been on my radar because i quite enjoyed the first two games. after the lukewarm reception i'm not terribly excited but i'll probably grab it when it's like $15 or less

Im just about to start it
Big fan of the first two games; there arent enough Zelda-like games out there considering how popular that series is I bought it at launch but have waited for them to patch things. I heard it was pretty buggy at first but it sounds better now. My understanding is that combat was more Dark Souls-y, and they have patched in an option to play it more hack&slashy like the first two games. Awesome that theyre supporting it like this post-launch imo People talk a lot of shit about this game but honestly gaming could use more medium-budget games like this.
