We had a guy in a neighboring town put dog poop in a package and left it on his porch. Somebody took it. And then the thief came back later and threw a rock through the window. I just order stuff to my workplace lol.

The idea is to inconvenience them, not kill them. That's why he didn't use stuff that could be carcinogenic or otherwise potentially hazardous to their health, as it's very illegal to leave traps that cause bodily harm.

He's far too nice, I would've used oil paint or something. Back when I was a street cop, package theft was easily one of the most common reports I had to take on a daily basis so it's good to see someone with the skill come up with something to deter mail thieves.

Yes unless you specifically give instructions on where to leave the package, but even that doesn't work some of the time as some delivery drivers are damn lazy and will leave the package on the front door instructions or no instructions.

I also don't understand, how you can just place someones parcel out in the open street. Thats so stupid and they should bring it to post office if there is no one to receive it

He should seriously get some Angel Investor funding and mass produce that. With enough sales, he could make a serious dent in package theft, especially if word got out that there were literally millions of the things out there.

This part bothers me. If you are receiving a package, there should be a central Depot that you can go to after hours if they are unable to ascertain a delivery in person. Purolator used to do that, but now they've just started leaving them on doorsteps for whatever reason. Canada Post still requires you to go to a post office to get a package if they are unable to deliver it personally. It's the for-profit bullshit that are are cutting corners at the cost of consumers.
