Cranky Kong being the original Donkey Kong is disrespectful to Donkey Kong's legacy.

Traditional RPGs collectively offer fantastic characters and world building, but have awful gameplay mechanics.

Mortal Kombat was more fun when it was Enter the Dragon with mystical elements. Mad props to them for finding their voice in the second game and rolling with it for all these years, but the first game is the best in terms of general atmosphere.

There's no excuse for GTA to not have a female protagonist by this point.

Child heroes are ridiculous and Link is no exception. It's okay to start out with him as a kid, but he shouldn't be defeating Ganon if he's 12. Furthermore, if it doesn't belong in a Tolkien world, it doesn't belong in a Legend of Zelda game except in moments of levity. You can have a frog playing a harmonica, but don't put Link on a train or a motorcycle unless he's in a crossover game.

The new Tomb Raider games should be their own thing instead of using the Tomb Raider license. Lara Croft is a fun (and shapely) adventurer, not a horror movie survivor.

The modern Ninja Gaiden games make Ryu look like Ninja Batman and Irene looks like a porn star.

Mario needs black friends. Like, seriously. The only time I recall a black person even being in a Mario game, it was a photographer in Mario is Missing. And Mario was absent!

Sonic the Hedgehog is dangerously close to becoming a Bubsy the Bobcat. (Albeit one who actually had good games in the past.)

Edgy games don't interest me in the slightest.

Metroid should never be first-person and Samus's suit should be as much a part of her character as Iron Man's costume is to his character.

The first third to half of Majora's Mask is a complete slog, diminishing replay value and therefore making it a worse game overall. And if half a game is a drag, is it good anyways? Its not that being a Deku sucks, its just that everything the plot wants to do for the first week is boring.

Fire Emblem Awakening is the best FE game. Supports not only function but actually do something, rescue was made obsolete, spotpass shops are a godsend and they give you dozens of old fan-favorite characters. It didn't invent Casual mode, but even FFT gives you 3 turns to make up for 1% crits. Speaking of FFT, it only had 5 characters per a battle, which is effectively what Pair Up does; deeper units and better paced battles.

Conversely, I hate Fates, especially Conquest. It sucks all the fun out by nerfing Pair Up, scraping not only the map but the worldbuilding itself. The battlefields are too claustrophobic to use Attack Stance. It tries too hard to 'balance' everything with trivial "+2 stat -1 other stat" nonsense, worst of all silver weapons & personal skills. Even in Revelations, your characters can't inter-marry, which defeats the point. Friendship seals suck, they're completely useless. Fucking Dragon Veins are never fun, they're never useful only necessary or used against you.

Last Story was a great game.

Xenoblade X is way better than 1, what a terrible battle system.

FF12 sucked, the SNES FFs are over-rated and the NES FFs are under-rated.
X2 was fine, its battle/Job systems are really cool.

Ni No Kuni wasn't even that enjoyable, and it had some nonsense like; the more pokemon you caught, the harder it is to catch more, to the point where not only did the odds reach single-digit percents; some became uncatchable.

Xbox controllers are so fat and awkward, and I have big hands so its not me.

He's pretty much the best for catching other Pokemon. False Swipe, Spore, and Soak = easy mode.

- Series that dont change much but simply build on whats already there are perfectly fine (even though I personally dont like them).
- There should be more (quality) remasters and re-releases
- If Overwatch was balanced, it would be one of the best multiplayer shooters ever released.

I dont think any of these are all that controversial except for maybe that last one.

Oracle of Seasons is the best Zelda game, Adventure of Link is one of the best and Ocarina is one of the worst.
FF8 > FF7
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga was bad, borderline terrible.
Altered Beast is the second-worst game I've ever played.
Kirby, Metroid and F-Zero are the best Nintendo series.
MGS3 is the second-worst game in the series, only ahead of MG1.
Devil May Cry (1) is a terrible game.
ZX is one of the best Mega Man games.
Arkham Origins is a great game.
Assassin's Creed 3 is a great game.
3D Land is the best Mario game by a long shot.
Samus was fine in Other M. But the game was terrible because of the dodge, the quickcharge and the lack of variety in hidden upgrades.
Ace Combat 5 deserves to be remembered as one of the PS2's must-have exclusives.
Fire Emblem games are way way WAY too hard.
Difficult games should be short.
Not every game needs to autosave or be able to save anywhere.
But the ones that don't need a quicksave feature.
Super Mario Bros was hard has hell.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES) was no tougher than an average NES game.
Double Dragon NES > Double Dragon Arcade
Fatal Run is the best 2600 game by a long shot.
The Super NES has the best racing game library of all time.
The Genesis had hardly anything worth playing.
3 is the best Phantasy Star game.
MKvsDCU was a great game.
GBA is still the best handheld system, if you ignore the DS's BC.
Enter the Matrix was a great game.
Multiplayer is invariably a miserable experience. Except Smash Bros local MP.
DLC is great, even on disc.
Star Force is a way better series than Battle Network.

Super Metroid is beloved by the same group of people who love Zelda ALTTP: adults who played it as children. The fans of this game have enormous nostalgia goggles on 24/7. Fusion, Zero Mission, and Samus Returns are all heads and shoulders above it, not to mention the Prime games which are in a league of their own
