Current Events > Two huge college decisions come out for me tomorrow... aaaaaaaah!!!

By tomorrow I technically mean today, since its past midnight... but you get the point.

I. Am. Freaking. Out.

It isnt even close to the time yet. All of a sudden I am very anxious because the pressure of it is just starting to hit me.

Has anyone been through this? Is anyone else going through this with me? Advice? Aaaaah!

A few days ago I was denied by Notre Dame. It's not a big deal because I got into IU Bloomington with great financial aid and IU's business school is just as good as ND. But it makes me believe I will not get into U Chicago whose decision comes out tomorrow (today).

Then theres U Michigan of Ann Arbor, I really hope I got into there but the business program is selective. Decisions may not come out until December 24. I applied to Purdue too but who cares the business school there is really not exceptional.

I also applied to both UChicago and UMichigan. Im so worried about UChicago. I know the chances are low but I would love to go there. Congrats on Bloomington!

Yeah I think UChicago chances are a bit bleak for anyone. I also have a weird circumstance where I attend a public apply-based boarding school so if someone else was more communicative and maybe wrote better essays then I'm out. I'll really be crushed if UMichigan denies me or gives no financial aid I have probably-exaggerated visions of Bloomington being a deafening always-on party scene and never being able to sleep. The reputation is certainly there.

I just have no frame of reference after ND denied me. I got great recs great grades and a 35 ACT and fancy myself a pretty good writer when I'm not shitposting here. That other people at my school I think highly of were themselves deferred or denied.

Just want to say that if you don't get the results you wanted that it's not the end of the world. Regardless of where you go to school it's important that you make strong connections with the faculty and your peers. A lot of times kids think getting into a great school and excelling in classes are all that matter but connections and bonds are just as important. At the end of the day, the name of the school printed on the paper isn't what's most important.
