the lady was at a welfare office and there was too many people, so all chairs were taken. so she had to sit on the floor. the workers yelled at her for sitting on the floor and told her to move, but there was nowhere to move TO. so she didn't know what to do. and then the cops were called, and the cops grabbed her baby and tore it away from her arms while someone caught it on video.

she wont be needing welfare anymore after the MASSIVE settlement shes going to receive.

Holding a baby in your arms is not a free pass to disobey the police and resist arrest. The police would not even have been needed in this case if she had simply listened when told multiple times to move. And then she had a second chance to obey when lawfully ordered to leave by the police. Now shes charged with child endangerment for using her child as a pawn in this situation. Some people just should not have children.

The Mercer County Sheriff's office confirmed to CNN that Headley has an outstanding arrest warrant from NJ Superior Court from July 2017 for failure to appear in relation to credit card fraud.

Sounds like the woman isn't such an innocent victim. I'm siding with NYPD on this one.

Unless she was arrested for the warrant, this doesn't justify the actions by the NYPD.

It shows what kind of person she is and why it's more likely her fault than the cops'. There's a reason we give the title "New York's finest" to our police officers and not to people who commit credit card fraud, blow off their court date, create a disturbance in public and then use their child as human shield.

Heres the thing, is it shitty? Possibly. If a Representative of a property does not want you there, they are well within their legal right to request police to move you along. If the police come to trespass to you, a baby doesnt excuse anything you have. Then I assume they got her info and ran her and discovered her warrants.

It's probably considered a fire hazard. If they just left her, someone could likely get written up for it. After she refused to comply, that's the only recourse left. She's the one at fault for not complying with their instructions or police instructions.

That's her problem. It doesn't give her free reign to obstruct the hallway and create a disturbance. Its not as though she's the first person to ever arrive somewhere with no empty seats left. In fact, that scenario happens all the time and the overwhelming majority of people who can't find an empty seat don't start endangering the public safety and the safety of their child.

when I went to apply for food stamps I think, around a year ago, I remember seeing some people sitting on the floor. and it wasn't just one person. I think I remember like 10 people or more sitting against the wall in a hallway outside the main office. and everyone just walked past them and ignored them

This seems like a big exaggeration on your part and there doesn't appear to be any indication in the article that it is the case. By the way I work for my state's Fire Marshal and they would not shut the place down over people sitting in the hall, that's just dumb.

This seems like a big exaggeration on your part and there doesn't appear to any indication in the article that it is the case. By the way I work for my state's Fire Marshal and they would not shut the place down over people sitting in the hall, that's just dumb.

Every state is different I guess. Ive had to standby during shutdowns for stuff like this all time

And when the police arrived, she acted like a fucking idiot because she didn't want picked up on her warrant (dumb way to avoid being ran through the system) and used her child as a fucking human shield.

She is a terrible person, that created a terrible situation and it's no fault but her own.
