I don't understand how anyone can prefer PC gaming to console gaming. Console gaming is a LOT more fun, and it's for about a quarter the price. How is this a decision that requires any thought? But there are clearly still PC gamers in the world, and some of them are hardcore about it.

plus ppl that play PC games are actually skilled at the games they play and tend to stick with games longer than 6 months. on consoles, any game that doesnt have Call of Duty in the title is a ghost town within a year

These days? Console. I'd been a PC gamer for decades prior... oddly enough now I've switched sides and now prefer the simplicity of console gaming.

I'm more into PCs. I just like how it is with PC gaming better (especially old DOS games etc I don't mean the whole PC versions are better shit), but I'll play consoles too for Nintendo games or top end titles and exclusives. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd stick with PC gaming for sure.

The initial investment might be more, considering the hardware spikes cause of bitcorn farmers, but the more often you buy games, the more return on investment you get. PC is always going to have better deals for the same games.

As for being a "lot more fun", that's a vague statement that I don't understand, and I don't think you understand it either.

About a decade ago I switch over to PC for the better version of TF2. Hardly touched my PS3 or 360 after that. Although RDR2 and Spider-Man does make me want to buy a PS4.

to clarify, there's a lot of niche games and stuff on PC that you'll just never get on consoles like point and click adventures and indie shit for example. there's just something about the PC scene that does it for me

Because ever since 2012 or so console gaming, while still having a few upsides, has been inferior to PC gaming due to the fact that the same games on the Sony/MS usually get released on the Pc, where one can simply plug their PC into an HDTV and use a controller for games that play better with one. Consoles have been crippled DRM boxes for no less than 5 years.

I thought that they these arguments from ignorance regarding PC had finally died.

I play alot with family and they just wont get onboard with pc, but i get it.

PC. Most games from favorite genres either aren't available on console or play much better on PC.

PC gaming for most things on most objective terms, but I contend that couch co-op is still the greatest way to play any game, therefore console still wins out for me.

Couch Co-op exists on PC, although emulating the experience of old consoles is pricier if you want the authentic controllers, too.

It's a faff though, and most people don't or can't do it. I think PC gaming is best for solo or online play.
