Oh, there are at least a few very plausible sequel and prequel routes, as well as exploring what's happening on the other side of the world. I just don't see what story they could tell that meets or exceeds the two already told, and at worst it would weaken the previous ones retroactively. You have a Platinum game with one of the best soundtracks ever telling a deeply philosophical tale. It needs to stand alone. Plus Taro isn't going to do his best work shackled to public demand for more of the same.
