er, sanders didn't ignore black women? he limited his campaign expenditures on the deep south, mainly because he knew he would make little headway there, and because (whether he admitted it or not) he knew he would not win a majority of votes in the primary, or anything near it. i always will believe he was smart enough to know he was fighting to pull clinton to the left, and smart enough to know he couldn't just SAY that.

black women had long since chosen hillary well before his candidacy was even announced, and it is definitely true that they'll choose the 2020 nominee, given the proportion of the dem electorate that they comprise.

it's not really a fault of black women that they chose hillary, either. her story resonates with them, she's a known champion to them. she made sense. the party was foolish to throw support behind her so early--her victory in a primary that didn't have their pledged support was already assured. that hurt them in the general.

but the dem primary was always going to be hers, and the next one will be that of someone who resonates with black women as well

i hope that someone is a strong candidate for the general. and i hope that someone champions progressive ideas.

and i hope that someone is not hillary clinton again.

because they outnumber other voters who identify as dems

if you have a problem with that change your party ID to dem and vote in a primary

Bernie Sanders was getting arrested for civil rights protests while Hillary Clinton was still calling herself a republican.

Meanwhile, in 2016, when asked if black lives matter, Hillary said all lives matter.

She also said black people were super preditors, that she carried around hot sauce in black neighborhoods and used the term CPT to explain why she was late. Shes not a champion for black people. Sanders at least seems like he cares

It was dems who fucked us over by running an unpopular candidate with that super criminals comment about black youth. Black women wouldn't bail us out by voting for somebody who would continue throwing them under the bus. Especially when you consider how candidates like Bernie have repeated that "we need to work together across the aisle" and give concessions to Republicans with nothing to show for it. At best, they get a pet project or two approved but nothing that actually helps minorities.

Don't blame the oppressed for not propping up somebody who has trampled them underfoot for decades like Bernie or Hillary.

People literally just want a black woman running. Doesn't matter about policies, as long as they aren't a white male.

Politics is well fucked in the US.
