Pretty much. A lot of people complain about being hassled by cops, but in the back of my mind I'm always like "Well, who were you with at the time? What were you doing?" I can't speak for racial profiling or how cops differ in America on average, but I've never had any issues. My interactions with cops have basically been limited to:

"Have you had anything to drink tonight sir?" - At checkstops.

"Have you seen any *insert suspicious activity or persons here*" - When I used to walk alone at night during the summer for something to do, to clear my head, whatever.

Every time I just answer their questions and they tell me to have a good night and then they leave. I don't doubt that some are corrupt/power tripping/bad dudes in general, but I tend to think that those are in the minority.

Not entirely, but I know my rights and their (the cops) limits. They've got a job to do and it usually doesn't involve me. I think they've given me a break for being decent with them more than once.

Same here. I drove through a speed trap doing 47 on a 25 mph road with no insurance. I had to go to court because of the lack of insurance and the cop was there. He told the judge I was polite and the judge dropped both charges. I paid nothing and only lost my time. It was a Jules moment of clarity.
