Even in one months time, even if you bust your ass, you won't be thin enough to feel attractive or like yourself physically.

That kind of "yeah it can change, but not for a long time" is very demoralizing and so it's hard to maintain the drive because of it.

Sometimes I think about having a girlfriend and having her physically attracted to me and holding her in my arms and her smiling and then I get bummed as fuck when I realize AT BEST that moment is 6 months away if it is even possible ever.

I'm obese, have no job and I have mental and physical health problems. I've only had about 2 and a half years total of being single since 2007. I used to be skinnier but I've had a relationship and dates since becoming obese. I've never had any prospects. I'm a dad and I get on fine with my child's mother.

You just have to be able to get on with women and make them laugh. That's it.

Just take it one day at a time. Proper diet and moderate excerise. It may take a while but you'll get there.

Life is a marathon, not a sprint. If you give up on something like this, you are guaranteed to NEVER reach your goal. If you keep working, you will get there.

Set smaller goals as progress milestones. Buy a nice looking pair of jeans in a size a little smaller than you currently are and they can be a more achievable short term goal to work towards.

Basically, stop drinking soda. If you drink two cans a day (~300 calories), that cuts about 2100 calories a week, which means you'll lose almost three pounds a month from just this one change.

Plus, then you won't be damaging your teeth with all the sugar in soda.

This. Good things don't come over night and it's not like one can gain enough weight to become obese in a month so why would it take a month to lose the weight

Best bet is changing lifestyle so you feel a little better each new day
