What will typify the music of the decade (for better or for worse?

Mumble rap and dubstep come to mind as possibilities.

Probably just be called tens music since 90s music was called 90s music. Honestly, when I think of the 90s, I'm not sure any one style jumps to mind.

Probably rap or hip hop as those tend to be the most mainstream.
Even people who claim not to like them generally have at least a few artists they accept.

I think of Gangnam style and Despacito. Basically the rise of internet music.

Dubstep has completely gone by in popularity so it's perfect for exploitation, same with vaporwave I imagine.

Sadly there are people out there who unironically like this type of music.

Stuff like Rihanna and Katy Perry. The same music that is considered "stereotypical radio trash" now.

Dubstep is more of a 00s/10s border thing. I guess it peaked in popularity in the 10s, but very early 10s.

The 2010s make me basically think of what this video is parodying:

I doubt anyone over the age of 15 unironically likes Lil Pump.

But yeah, the 10s has definitely been the decade of rap. Pop was mostly a 00s thing, and dubstep died down by 2014, so I can't really call it relevant for the whole decade.

The same hip pop thats been trending for the past 20 years. Really dub step was like a subcultural blip that somehow sifted to the surface for a minute, made its way to a couple of commercial jingles or parts of song within other genres. Just as other niche genres were shaken for any change in their pockets to see if they'd stick and take off.
