There are several disclaimers and things I need to say before getting into this.

1. I do not own the game
I wasn't sure if I wanted to play a game like this so I'm watching a let's play

2. I've only seen an hour of Campagin gameplay so this is only my first thoughts on what I've seen so far

3. The game looks REALLY good graphically and has some nice features based on the beginning

Anyway, so far the Campagin seems meh in terms of gameplay and fun. It's like a glorified Call of Duty Campagin where you just follow the leader everywhere and do what they say.

Like I said. This is just my initial thoughts on an hour of gameplay. There is no way I can judge the complete Campagin based on that 1 hour. If the majority of the Campagin is like that though then it's not going to convince me to buy the game. We'll see though. Hopefully it gets better later.

from what I've heard, the first chapter is pretty slow, with a bunch of tutorial stuff, but the game gets to be amazing as it opens up

Ah that might explain it. I just need to keep watching and see what happens. I heard it's really long too.

That seems like a trend in third-person open world games since BotW

I remember GTAIV starting out pretty slow

the first RDR, too, iirc.
