I'll see if I can find it, in the meantime, I find it funny you mention that. My buddy finished up a degree in computer repair, a repair shop offered him a job.

meanwhile, he works at Wal-Mart making 11.50/h, full benefits, and its right beside his house. It's not surprising that for the entry levels worth of work people are choosing to stick to stupid jobs like Wal-Mart, all because companies are not willing to give benefits, or up the wage to a more suitable amount for the training expected.

There is a hardware store in Canada called Kent. I once got an interview there, the interview consisted of me sitting down with a 30 question exam with your standard questions on it, like what would you do in this situation, and the like, and then there was like 5 math questions like:

A customer wants to put down trim for a nursery in his house, given the dimensions of 8 feet by 4 feet, how much trim should be used if you include the doorway. Needless to say, I failed that exam. I mean, I get it, its important to know those kinds of things, but for a cashier job? I don't really see why I'd need to know that. That's something you'd ask the warehouse consultant.

It's funny, management these days seems to want to pass the blame from one person to another. I had 2 interviews a few months ago, after failing to get both jobs I asked a simple question "where did I go wrong in the interview process", just to better myself. Instead of getting an answer, I got tossed aside, 3 separate times, only getting a response from someone who wasn't in the area I was applying for(due to dad writing a letter in my name). They were apologetic, and all I said to them was "why are you the one who is calling me? You had nothing to do with the interview process, and you aren't even in the area I was applying for. Why are you apologizing for someone elses mistake?"

and they wonder why people get so pissed off these days.
