It's one of those things I feel like will be seen as an old shame.

Looking back, they were already racking up problems by the time I started watching wrestling, let alone when I started regarding them as going downhill.

As a new fan I liked 1998 and the nWo Wolfpac seemed like a good idea but in hindsight there were a ton of issues that I can only pick up on as a wrestling fan with years of viewership under his belt.

Yeah, the old school WCW from like 1996 - early 1999. By mid 1999 it went downhill. I think Goldberg made it boring.

Debatable. For me the falloff really began when they seemed to think the only way forward was to slap both nWo factions together.

But, again, that could just be nostalgia because objectively I can see WCW was struggling to stay relevant even when I was really enjoying them. They set the pro wrestling world on fire with the nWo but that should have started rolling off by 1997 (everyone agrees the real endpoint should have been Sting beating Hogan at Starrcade '97, which was right after I started watching wrestling as a whole). 1998 was plagued with them trying to stretch out an already stagnating idea.

Likewise Goldberg vs. DDP at Halloween Havoc '98 should have been the end of Goldberg's streak but they stretched that out just so Kevin Nash could get a dirty win over him.

Yeah I got into wrestling watching WCW from 1999 until its end. Went to one of their rare UK live shows, that was a mess. As a kid I loved Vampiro and now it sucks knowing he's such a dick.

Lost interest in wrestling after WCW ended and I couldn't get into WWE, but became a wrestling fan again a couple of years ago.

I don't think i ever saw an episode of any WCW shows and i wasn't really watching wrestling in general in the mid to late 90s and early 2000s so i guess not.

It bugs me calling 1996 "old school" WCW. Old school WCW has to be pre-Hogan in the very least since he was the signing that made it apparent in ring talent is taking a back seat to character.

I started watching Jim Crocket Promotions late 80s, probably 88 as my first year.

I absolutely loved it. Very casually followed it before, but once the nWo took off, it was my life, lol.

I thought the Wolfpac was the greatest thing ever but Im guessing if I watched it all again it wont be as great as I think it was. Ive slowly been doing a watch through since they added Nitro to the network and just hit episode 100, so no Wolfpac yet, but even still so far while there is some good stuff it isnt nearly the spectacle I had thought it was.
