I've barely seen anything of of Pewdiepie's videos, but what I did see, he was just a loud, immature, annoying guy who tries way to hard to be funny. At least AVGN has nostalgic game footage.

FACT: I no longer keep up with either, though I do sometimes watch Mike Mateis let's plays on the channel if it's an old game I used to enjoy.

Honestly, that's probably my least favorite part of AVGN. The cringe comedy is sort of forced sometimes, and it shows. He's not really a good actor and I think that the character works because it's close enough to him that he doesn't really need to act all that much. I'd say the show is starting to get old now, though, and his overproduced wannabe movie episodes are pretty awful. Either way, though, at least AVGN has some obvious passion for the media he covers and is apparently pretty cool with his fans, so he gets more slack because of that.

I don't watch either anymore, but at least one actually puts out content on a seemingly regular basis.

Idk about better videos, but I'd definitely say that Pewd is a better Youtuber.

I don't watch most of his uploads, but when I do I very rarely regret watching it. And he is obviously very consistent.

His biggest flaw is probably that he is very naive.

Pewdiepie had a major change up a few years ago. Hes actually fucking self aware and pretty amazingly non conformist in some respects despite being the highest subscribed YouTuber for years. His content is quite good for being released daily. AVGN is sporadic af and is a major try hard recently. Though yes, obviously, AVGN has a ton of classic content. But that doesnt have shit to do in terms of the last few years.

Im guessing anyone arguing against Pewds here simply hasnt watched him in years or just assumes hes pointless.

PewDiePie just plays games and talks... he's basically a Twitch streamer.

AVGN makes short films. I don't see how you could compare them. Much more work goes into what AVGN does.

To be fair, if we are going by recent news, Pewdiepie probably has some other issues going.

I'll agree if only because of the huge prevalence of Mike Matei on AVGN's channel.

Idk. I dont know anything about the guy, maybe hes a great person, but damn if I just find him totally uninteresting. And he practically drowns out James every time they share a vid.

Matei is like if you imagined the most average guy you can imagine somehow got a following.

Not that smart or well spoken. Not especially talented at anything in particular. Not especially attractive or fit. Not really having anything of much depth to say.

I think that's part of the charm for some though. It's just hearing the opinion or jokes of some normal dude, not some college kid doing hour long game design analysis videos or amateur comedians talking over a game.

Mike plays video games without using his hands
