I had a weird week January last year where I had insomnia but when I fell asleep Id have dreams that felt like days in 20 mins of real time. Then I had dreams on dreams to the point I had to ask my roommate if I had already talked to him that day. My dream with him was literally me waking up and telling him about the dream before.

I would say look it up but basically it the process for a hard drive (not SSDs generally) that finds bad or corrupted sectors to restore them to the whole to be able to be used again.

Thats oversimplified but still the point

An Escape from reality
Although I guess it could be possible they could actually be parallel Worlds
Probably the only reason I probably would think this because some dragons and Pokemon that shown up in my dreams did attempt to cross over from my dreams into this reality and another Pokemon tried to synchronize each world I've been in and destroy just to keep me in that one.
Although if that Pokemon actually thought about it probably would've been easier just to erase my memories instead without being destructive.
But I guess if they were parallel worlds not sure what I would since I destroyed a couple of them that I was Yveltal in.
I also have had the same few dragons show up as well and they said they were from the same world.

What's really weird is dreams that generate deja Vu

Like I've had moments ranging from a week to months later where I just stop and I'm like...I'm pretty sure I fucking dreamt this moment

Yes. I have a dream world and all my dreams seem to take place in its locations

I have some weird dreams once in a while that I like to call "epochs"

These dreams feel like they go on and on and on, but rather than me drifting from one vague dream to another vague one, it's just one massive, vivid, semi-coherent storyline.

A recent one I had not three days ago; I was watching football on TV. Patrick Mahomes had just thrown his 10th touchdown. My fantasy team was winning 98 to 2. But it was part of some dystopic timeline where we regularly had drills to head into nuclear bomb shelters because North Korea was on the brink of nuking us. So during the game, these alarms go off, except they aren't the drill ones, they're the real ones.

Rather than going into shelters, the best plan was to evacuate for some reason. But I was like fuck that, I want to watch football, so I went into a random house (they were all empty because everyone had evacuated) and just hunkered down there. It was just a residential street from the town where I went to college, even though I haven't been there in three years. Eventually I went outside with some booze I had stolen from the house, and I was approached and threatened at knifepoint by some scraggly looking dude, so I gave him the booze. I turned around to go back to the house, but these buses were pulling up en masse, and a nice old lady stepped off, I asked her what was going on, and she deadass said "we got'em!" (and by "'em," she meant the nuke). Said the military or whatever was able to dismantle it. So the buses were there to drop everyone back off from wherever they had evacuated to, and it was a happy ending.

Then I woke up. The whole thing felt like days. It took me until around noon that morning for it to eventually begin to fade.

That was one of the less fun ones. I remember another one from several years ago where it was full on Game of Thrones. I was running around with a broadsword in battle armor and there was this whole lit storyline between me and Brienne of Tarth that I don't remember.

I used to have something like that in highschool and college when I'd rarely sleep. The longer feeling dreams were rare for me but I'd get sort of half dreams where it'd be a weird, surreal version of what was happening right before I'd zone out.

Usually little things like thinking I'd put my phone on my desk, then jolt awake, and it'd still be in my pocket. Sometimes weird shit.

Anyway, as for what I think dreams themselves are - kind of like an unwinding tool. Like, you know when you're just rambling and venting...kinda stream of consciousness thinking out loud? I guess it's kinda like that, where your brain is just processing a bunch, and that's just it's stream of consciousness...but I guess rather than pulling from your current thought pool like venting/rambling would it's instead pulling from your entire perception and memories.

Idk.
