To be a manager in my industry you basically need 2-3 decades of experience so kind of a moot point.

There have been positions available, but managers have to have open availability and I had to scale mine back since my daughter was born.

I am a manager.

It's nice to feel like you're heavily relied on, and a lot of the big decisions go through me.

But it's too damn much work and I hate it.

I'm the top manager at my location and it's pretty nice except for the one employee who has been here for 15 years who makes my life difficult but meets output well enough that there is no justification for getting rid of her other than she is very cynical and stubborn.
