Octobers just around the corner, and these are some movies I may or may not watch for Halloween season. Which of these have you seen and enjoyed, if any?

In The Mouth of Madness really isn't that bad. It's kind of a mess, but it's enjoyable.

Most of these were at least moderately well-received, though (Dead Ringers & Deep Red got better critic reviews than the majority of A-list horror flicks), they just have smaller audiences.

I feel like the term "B movies" is typically used more as a term of quality, not about their reach.

They'd be more indie films than B-movies.

B movies I think of things like zombeavers or Manos: Hands of Fate.

I agree, but thats why I said B-list instead of just B-movies. They technically fall under the B-list popularity-wise, and theres less connotation that way.

Ah, fair enough. I think I read the other guy's post and just assumed you also had said B movies.

Some of these are AAA list. Dead Ringers is my favorite of the bunch, but The Brood, Dead Ringers and Deep Red are all top notch, some of the best in the genre even, and In The Mouth of Madness is pretty solid too.

1. The Seventh Samurai, Das Boot, Bicycle Thieves, etc. are all examples of foreign films that also fall under the category of A-list.
2. Again, Im using B-list as a measurement of how well-known/remembered these movies are, not their actual quality or even perceived quality.

but okay lol

one of my favorite B list horror flicks is killer klowns from outer space

though one thing about the movie always bothered me and didnt make any sense

the clowns kill everyone they see. but for some reason they only kidnap debbie. i mean i know this is just an excuse to get her into the circus tent for the climax with the other lead characters but they could have just had her not go home and she still would have ended up there with the others

I feel like you're always going to run into this communication issue by saying B-list. To most people that implies being second tier to some degree or another, mainly in terms of quality.

Maybe being like, "less well known" or something, IDK, or just say "indie", whether it's completely accurate or not, will probably get the point across.

B-list just felt more "official" as a form of categorization; really I'd just consider A-list horror movies to be the staple ones people watch on Halloween like The Exorcist, Jaws, Nightmare on Elm St., etc., and again some of the movies I mentioned in the OP could probably be argued to be better than any of those. Oh well...
