Walmart sent a letter to the Trump administration about two weeks ago asking it to reconsider new tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods, according to multiple reports.

In a letter to US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, the company which employs 2.3 million people worldwide, including 1.5 million in the US said the immediate impact of the fresh tariffs "will be to raise prices on consumers and tax American business and manufacturers,

Still, this will be problematic in the long run. Enterprise thinking requires companies like Walmart to maintain a strong quarterly profit margin even in the face of extenuating circumstances. So if they increase prices, they won't do anything to improve the wages of their own employees, which turns into a vicious cycle where the cost of living for those employees go up because they now will be able to afford less at their own store.

Trump needlessly weighing down foreign resources will have consequences domestically.

Regardless, our economy is going down the drain and were going to have to accept that the rich/poor gap is going to increase. Mostly because of the prices, and minimum wage jobs will increase.
