It's free, which is a bad sign, but that art direction is killer and that shadow shot at the end does look like an actual real party. Could be legit.

Well, the mobile port of ToP was a real Tales game for 'free', and it was one of the worst, most blatantly exploitative cash-grabs in the infamous history of F2P games.

So maybe gacha is the lesser of two extreme evils.

What was wrong with it?

Basically, they ramped up the difficulty, increased the amount of EXP required per level, and cut the encounter rate. Meaning that grinding took ages and was insanely dangerous, but don't worry, because the new IAP shop lets you buy special items that let you continue a fight after a TPK (with a stat boost that makes the fight actually winnable)!

There's also far fewer save points, making it almost impossible to just push on through without needing an anti-TPK purchase, and all saves are serverside, meaning you need a constant internet connection to play. And then they turned off the servers, rendering the whole game unplayable, no refunds.

Huh, might keep an eye on it. In other news Troy Baker isnt Yuri in Vesperia HD :( He said he was gutted that Bamco didnt even approach him about returning for the role or anything. Id assume he was replaced by Mercer

they either declined to pay his high rate

or he declined the role because he's too good for jrpgs now

or they didn't approach him because of his higher rate

or he's using twitter to guilt the public into pressuring Bamco for the role

Id imagine thats mostly due to scheduling issues though. I mean pay could be a factor too, but Baker is in huge demand and is present in tons of AAA games so he really might not have had time to return for ports of anime game roles. I mean he did voice Kanji for some of the P4 anime, but his honeymoon or something was during the dubbing so he got replaced for the rest of it
