I remember when Season Passes were first introduced. At first they were really worth it and not that expensive. For example my first season pass was Gears of War 3. At the time it was $30 and it came with a bunch of content which turned out to be worth it in my opinion. Before I would buy season passes without knowing what I was getting, now I'm a lot more cautious and reluctant to buy seasons passes today because not only are they not worth it, they barely concur any savings which is what made season passes so enticing before. What are your thoughts, and what passes have you bought if any?

I bought the borderlands 2 season pass after the first 2 dlcs were out because it was clear at that point that they put effort into the additional content. I've never been tempted since, though I haven't played many triple A games in general in the past few years.

I have no idea what you are talking about

I've only ever bought two, for Life Is Strange and Minecraft: Story Mode. Not really my sort of thing, my backlog is too big!

Nope. Have never fell for it.

However, my friends and I played so much Black Ops 2 that one of my friends got pissed off having to play the vanilla maps (when playing with me) that he just bought the Season pass for me. So yeah, $50 down the drain for my friend because he and others wanted me to play the DLC maps with them too.

I thought the maps were meh at best and it's obviously not worth the $50 bucks. But hey, it wasn't my money.

Last time I bought one was for Halo Wars 2 because I liked the game.

But then they decided to not include the last piece of DLC that actually seemed worthwhile(story DLC).

Fuck 343i. They ruined Halo.

Once I think for BF4, rather than buy the maps separate. Got it during one of those money back events so that was cool.

Can't think of any others. As I've said in the past I don't usually buy much DLC.

Witcher 3 expansion pass was well worth. The 2nd expansion almost felt like a whole new game.

I don't really get the large percentage that says they will never buy any DLC.

Yeah I don't think worthwhile dlc is bad. Obvious dlc that is done wrong and is pretty short or has no meat to add to a story is not what I want as dlc. Expansions is something I definitely look forward to instead of small pieces.

I actually usually hear people complain the other way. Normally, people don't want more of the story locked behind a paywall... Unless it's more story, but story that is not needed to feel like the game is complete. If that makes sense...

It does make sense. Parts of the story that are required for completion of the main plot should never be DLC, but I like the occasional piece of backstory DLC - like Leliana's Song for Dragon Age: Origins, as just one example.

The only one I bought was for SAO Hollow Realization because it raised everyone's level at 70 which is pretty much needed for the DLC content (that I was intending to buy eventually anyway), and I was at 50 or so when I beat the main game, so it saved me a lot of grind time.

I need to get to playing that game. I'm almost done with Fatal Bullet.

I generally just ignore dlc for most games

I dont need extra missions or some deluxe version. Most of the time all the best stuff is in the base game
