Rule change to seven saves will likely be next round. That could be the last time I raise the saves - we shall see.

The one thing I am loving about this is how unpredictable it is. It really is anyone's game if things like Path of Radiance and Disgaea, which were often saved early, can go out.

The rules:
1. One save per user per hour. You know the drill.
2. It takes six saves from different users for a game to be safe. The last game remaining will be eliminated for good.
3. Redemption Island is finished for this season. Thank you all for participating!
4. Per the Day One poll result, trading is prohibited in this contest.
5. No rallying outside the topic, deleting posts, or using alts without specifying main

Not the result I would've asked for, but I can't say I'm too surprised - the writing was on the wall for Mother 3 for the last several rounds. It had a pretty good run for a Japan-only game.

Here's my prediction for the order of the top 5:

1. Persona 4
2. Tales of the Abyss
3. Pokemon Black and White
4. Kingdom Hearts
5. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I figure P4 wins easily, which is a respectable enough choice, but I'm less sure about the ranking of the other 4. Personally, I don't particularly want to support any of these games. I haven't played TotA though. There's been a copy of the PS2 version at a game store in my town for a while. If it does place first, I'll buy it.

Tales of the Abyss is a really good rpg. You should play it regardless of where it finishes.

Can confirm: Mother 3 is indeed out. I knew it had no chance to win - few have played it given its JP-only release - but it has a good reputation and I figured it feasibly could make the jury phase. I never expected it to do THIS well, so yes, it had a good run.

If you like JRPGs, you're going to like Abyss. Trust me. I second guff's motion to play it regardless. I've played through five times and never tire of it. Should make that six times sometime in the near future. It is that good.

*** NOTE: My dad had an extra ticket for the football game tomorrow and he's taking me. It is the early game (noon EST/11 am my time), which means I will be unavailable until mid-afternoon. A round with 7 saves per will be posted around 3:30 to 4:00 Eastern time unless enough people object. I do not like having a round that late on a Saturday (I won't be able to post one in the morning since we're doing pre-game stuff). Fair warning, but if you guys would rather there not be a round at all so you can do Saturday night stuff, let me know!

i only played Symphonia and didn't like it at all. is Abyss really that much better? i always got the impression that Vesperia is the only one that's much better than Symphonia (and of course that's the one i have no way of playing).

Well, Vesperia is coming out on pretty much everything next year. But yeah, I'd take Symphonia and Vesperia over Abyss. But the only series left where my favorites are here are KotOR and Persona, so that's kinda part for the course.
