How do these people breathe

They should make driver license tests annual, and extremely difficult. That way only the best drivers are on the road, and the roads aren't filled with stupid assholes.

No one cares about anyone else on the road, it's so frustrating. People don't pay attention half the time when they're merging on the road or changing lanes.

People are going to be blown away by how much self driving cars reduce traffic. No more texting while driving, phantom traffic jams, rubbernecking, drunk driving.

yeah I pretty much always take my foot off the brake instantly when the light turns green..then I sit there 3-5 seconds waiting for the cars in front of me to start going

There is no need to be a pussy behind the wheel in that scenario

Even if I floor it my bus just doesn't move that fast. I mean there's a reason I put the "0-60 in 11 days" sticker on the back of it.

First 5-6 cars go but the person ahead of me is having a bad day and wants to take it out on everyone around them so they slowly coast up to stop line as I lay on my horn, sit there while waiting for light to turn yellow, lag irl and then blow the red light

Was talking to a friend last night about how my super power of choice would be teleportation.. Would save me the trouble of having to drive anywhere, and having to deal with those idiots (and other reasons, like visiting people who live far, other countries, living wherever I want even if it's nowhere near my actual work)

It might not be intentional. My mom is a really shitty driver and treats a yellow light like a red to the point where shell be pretty aggressive on the breaks. Shell also stay in the rightmost lane on the freeway refusing to change lanes to get past the big rigs. Hate driving with her when I visit

I think that's fair if you're at an intersection where people commonly run red lights, but not at every intersection. Plus you can usually be looking at the cross traffic and watch the traffic light at the same time.

Anyway, I usually give people a two second lead time before I expect to see their car start rolling anyway. I hate when people start honking before the green light's even flared up.

New law (once autonomous cars are mainstream): unless you are in the 90th percentile of drivers (determined by driving skills, not by ability to obey laws), you must own an autonomous vehicle and keep it on autopilot at all times. Sound good?

Most people can't drive for shit. The testing for this is garbage, clearly a trained monkey could pass it. We should not be putting millions of idiots and teenagers behind the wheels of explosion-powered rolling steel.

If I were an automobile designer, I'd have a sensor in the dash that can tell when you're on your phone and automatically deploys the airbag, punching you right in the face like you deserve and if you happen to die well, guess you shouldn't have been looking at your phone while driving. Too damn bad.

More realistically, I think a $20,000 fine for texting while driving would be great.

NYC has a clearly defined box for every intersection and if you are in the box when the light turns red you'd get a ticket from a traffic cop.

People don't respect the box anywhere else, because they feel that they "deserve" to go, even when they know they'll block everyone else.
