So the point behind Dawkins's rant about tethering is that iClockwork showing a screenshot of Windows connected via a wired connection proves nothing about whether the computer is tethered to wireless or not because Windows does not distinguish connections tethered to mobile data from wired connections to your home network. The arguments he made on Twitter aren't technically wrong, it's just that they don't matter. The only way iClockwork could prove that he truly wasn't DDoSed by Dawkins is to give Dawkins his IP address, which would obviously be stupid.

Anyway, Dawkins won't get far with his "IP scanner" and DDoSing tactics unless he either:
1. Finds a way to reliably associate usernames to IP addresses (e.g. PMing specific users unique "IP scanners", or utilize the sort of low-hanging exploit that SBAllen has years of experience in mitigating)
2. Commits obvious cyber-crime and blanket DDoSes every IP he collects

Advice:
1. Don't open images in PMs from people you don't know, and if you suspect that they are Dawkins trying to collect your IP, report them immediately.
2. Use a VPN if you're paranoid. I recommend PIA because it's cheap and not yet proven to sell you out.
3. If you do get DDoSed, unplug your router for a minute to try to get a new IP. If that fails, call your ISP to get a new IP.

While the criminal complaint was privately filed, the Washington County State's Attorney's Office filed a motion in District Court to amend the document, changing the language from "willfully intercept electronic communication" to "willfully intercept wire communication."

The amendment was to bring the charging document in line with "specified charging language" under Maryland law, the motion said.

District Judge Mark D. Thomas granted the motion on Tuesday, court records said.

Good so they changed the language so he can't weasel out on a technicality this time. With his lawyer recently abandoning him this will be quite the entertaining shit show. Also,

In 2017, Cavanaugh was indicted on seven counts of intercepting communication. The allegations involved recordings of calls between Cavanaugh and members of the Hagerstown Police Department, a Washington County District Court commissioner, a deputy with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, an assistant state's attorney and the FBI, court documents said.

In January, that case was placed on the inactive docket. An inactive case can be recalled by the state for any reason within a year, or for two years after that, if the state can show good cause.

Hopefully the old charges will be activated and he will be found guilty after he this trial is finished and can set a new precedent by which to convict him.

Yeah. Dawkins messed up a few times along the way in this. He could have ignored the guy talking about him on facebook. He could have accepted Papa Johns answer and moved on. He didn't called several times and ended up having the cops involved. It feels like the "Am I free to go?" video all over again.

I love how he says he was 'defending his girlfriend' and then immediately comes back complaining about how the guy insulted him.

Also, Dawkins is just an insane bully. He flips between thinking he is some sort of advocate for justice, to thinking he is a mastermind anime villain who thinks he can out think anyone. He once berated a bus driver so bad she had to leave and be replaced in the middle of her route because the bus was later than the person he called said and he wanted a discount. He will bully and berate anyone he talks to so he can make himself feel superior, but he is too messed up to realize what a fool he is making himself out to be and how ridiculously horrible he is to other human beings.

He also seems to think that his mountain of obvious alts are somehow tricking us all despite the fact that they only appear out of nowhere when he wants someone to defend him.

People on here jokingly cheer him on, but I honestly don't believe he has the capability of understanding mockery.
