Currently work in finance for the past few years but lately I just feel like having a more active job is better than sitting in an office all day. Today I had a day off from my office job and was scheduled to do a shadow day with a mailman for like a few hours because the supervisor there wants to make sure that I'd he interested in the position since the turnover rate for new mailmen is like 80% or something.

Guy was really cool and he told me that its a great job once you get used to it. All i had to do was follow him around and walk with him. They also let me borrow a satchel to wear for the time being. Seems like a chill job. He said its chill once you get out of the office and start delivering mail because theres a lot of yelling going on ij the morning with the supervisors and mailmen. He also said normally you're supposed to work 8 hours a day or 40 a week, bit mail volume fluctuates so i might finish a little earlier or later but that i can control the speed such as walking, flipping through mail, shortcuts, etc.

So after a few hours he asked how i liked it. I said im willing to try it. Supervisor asked the same thing and wants to know if i can begin actual training next month. I told him ill call within a few days.

Damn, now i dont know what to do. The current job pay is good but i dont really enjoy sitting in an office all day for the rest of my life. The mailman pay isnt great to start but caps out near my current job pay after 13 years. There was another mailman at the station who works tons of overtime and makes over 6 figures after capping out.

At the end of the day its all about the $$$ and how much you think you need now and the future

The more you earn now, the better you are off when you get older as in you can work less, do you hobbies and odd jobs because you have so much $$$ saved up

Do you need to pay off loans, mortgages, etc now? Do you have enough $$$ to retire?

You'll be hurting for cash. Just be more active.

Every job gets routine and even boring. You won't like walking in the heat or winter.
