I say real because I did see Quiet Drive at a random coffee shop like 13 years ago.

Bought tickets for my GF's birthday to see AFI, Rise Against and Anti-flag at the Minneapolis armory.

Anyone seen any of them live? If so, how were they?

get hype! concerts are so much fun. i dont listen to any of those bands, but have fun!

pro tip: look up what the venue permits. some places allow you to bring in food and most places allow you to bring in a bottle of water (sealed or empty). you will most likely be scanned with a metal detector.

if you need advice for how to bring in goodies i got plenty.

if you dont mind getting pushed around then get a spot on the floor, feeling the energy of the crowd while you see & hear the performance is a pretty mindblowing experience imo, there is a lot of spiritual energy there. to me, listening to a band and seeing them live are two completely different experiences.

get there before doors open so you can get a good spot, stay out of the mosh pit if you dont want your ass kicked, if you're trying to sneak in ganj then tell your gf to keep it in between her boobs, since you'll probably be patted down at the door.

have fun, concerts are a blast

Are you going to try to kick peoples ass in the pit?

But he said it wasn't necessary and that he can open up a ticket for me.

I'm not a fan of being shoved, but I'm also a blue belt in BJJ and fight as an amateur in MMA so...Not too worried.

i mean if you're on the floor the crowd is going to be packed tight and everyone will be jumping, dancing, etc so you'll probably get pushed around a bit, its just how it is

Oh, I know. It's not like I'm going to fight someone just because they bumped into me. I meant more like if someone was being purposely aggressive and crazy.

Nice. I saw Anti-Flag back in like... 2009 I think. They were good, and really loud.
I've seen a little of Rise Against at Warped Tour some year, I think. Maybe.
Never seen AFI but that's probably cool.

Have fun! And bring ear plugs! I mean it! Sounds way better with earplugs in (truly, you get all the music without the excess crowd noise and overamplification), and your ears don't ring afterwards either.

typically there will be a 'mosh pit/circle' where people get really aggressive. if you stay out of that clearly defined space you shouldn't have anyone being overly aggressive.

oh and i highly recommend bringing ear plugs.
