Wow.

Something like that would be 8 figures at least in california unless its way out in the middle of nowhere. And even then, it'll probably just be shitty soil with no real trees or grass, just dirt, rocks, shrubs, and it likely won't have access to basic necessities.

I'm ready to be done with Seattle. I can get 40+ acres within 10 minutes of Olympia for under $500k. My 9000 square foot lot in Seattle is worth $300-350k alone, not counting value of house. There is a 140 acre lot in Olympia or Tumwater city limits for like $300k. It has power lines on part of the property but a giant wooded belt and is subdivided. Could build like a log cabin from the wood onsite for a pretty low cost I think.

And I dunno bout those other places but for california, even if you find a nice place with a 10+ acre lot, the schools where your kids would go would be trash.

I feel like I'm forced to live in a crowded city just to be able to send my kids to good schools.

crowded city isn't bad if it has low crime rates (i prefer to have peace) rather than being killed etc.
