Like you buy a DVD, few weeks later you return it for full price with the receipt and the fact that it's still good as new.

Same with games, TVs, books, etc.

Of course, excluding food items because that wouldn't work.

Should consumers always > companies?

You've never bought pre owned games?

I'm not saying clothes and food and the like. Electronics and stuff that would be in fine condition.

Why?

When your "customers" start abusing the shit out of your policy by returning the used product every month you will change your tune.

It'd get abused to hell and gone.

There's absolutely no reason to expect a business to allow that.

What's the bad part? Returning at full price? The time limit on returns?

I mean, you'd have to take care of the product and make sure it's good as new.

So you want to buy something for full price, return it and get full price back, and then have the store turn around and sell it again for second hand price? And you can't see why that business model won't work?

It's disturbing how many people operate with this mentality of "I should just get everything for free and somebody else should pay for it."

No, I mean the store would still sell it for full price because it's still good as new.

Or they could give you less money than full, probably like 70%.

If you return it, you don't have it so it's not really free is it?

Once it's been bought and used it's never new again and it's not worth as much as a new item. If I buy a pack of socks, wear them and then wash them and return them, would you pay full price for them?

What rules? I just gave examples.

Places naturally don't allow you to return undergarments for health reasons. You can return scarves and jackets.

"I want to enjoy new things but I want somebody else to pay for it." Here's an idea, if "like new" or "good condition" is good enough for everyone else, why don't you just buy used stuff in the first place and avoid this entire problem?

D for full price. You should generally get only like 30% of your money back, so it's more like selling the item back than 'returning' it.

You should only be able to get full price back if you return it within something like a week, or if there was a defect in the product.

Also, a lot of stores do not allow you to return books, DVDs, etc. and I agree with that; the 'within a week' rule should not hold for these.

I don't mind buying used stuff.

I only made this topic because in Australia, it's unlawful to have a sign in your store stating No Refunds and people can exchange stuff even if they change their mind.

I was wondering if it was like that in the rest of the world.

Hmm, perhaps there's a better way to approach all this, but do you guys personally feel that a consumer should be prioritized over a company in some situations?

I mean, I doubt the average citizen cares about Apple making profits or anything. They just want their iPhone fixed.

Ugh that makes it even worst cause come winter time people are gonna "buy" them from you and return them every week until spring then just get their money back. And you being stuck with loads of scarves and jackets won't even be able to sell them off season because they will just repeat next winter.

Well I haven't taken economics, which is why I'm asking.

I'm just looking at it from the side of a consumer, not the company.
