Because comic book stores have nothing to do with NYCC.

I take it you haven't been to the Comic-Con. I go to both SDCC and NYCC every year and tbh, NYCC in terms of crowd size outweighs SDCC at this point. SDCC is still the king because it takes over the whole downtown of SD and you have all the film/TV stuff, which is a much smaller part of NYCC. But damn... the con floor at NYCC is hell on earth. Way way WAY more crowded than SDCC at this point... trying to use a bathroom in the javitz center during the con is the thing of nightmares ... Copied to Clipboard!
