Actually, are Goths less popular today than before? My high school only had like 3 or 4 goths out of 1500, but I don't even see any goths in years anywhere >_>

Most goths eventually realize that their need for counter culture doesn't outweigh their need for food and shelter so they dress up like normal people during the day to work at jobs and put on their goth getup when going to parties / clubs / concerts / etc.

I think emos replaced goths. I never met an emo in school and graduated in 2001. Thanks to the internet I heard all about emos and nobody ever mentions goths anymore. so I think goths went extinct

Its like a combination of laziness vs work.
Like at first you take your collar and spike bracelets to wear when you clock out.
Then you leave them at home cause you gotta make a pit stop on the way to clubs anyways.
But you go out less and less cause you're tired from work and when you grow out of your high school clothes you shop at ross instead of hot topic.

Basically its a matter of... bleeding is a type of pain you can control instead of being bullied or abused by your parents. You're the boss of it and theres like an adrenaline thrill, it hurts less than your alcoholic dad.

Meh. You could still be the token goth in a cool crowd. I felt like I was the token loner in my groups. Like I socialized in school and on weekends when we partied but wouldn't be the one making plans and having gfs. I was funny and when you got me drunk I was reckless in a fun way. You didn't necessarily have to fit in to be in when it came to crowds.

I was scrawny my whole life but chicks didn't mind that I guess cause I did good in my teen years. Could of helped that my cousins were a self proclaimed gang that beat people up so my last name had the stigma of me maybe being dangerous. Little did they know I wouldn't hurt a fly. The hoey ones would realize I was soft and lose interest lol. Some just like me cause I was cute back then and could make them laugh. Those were the ones I pursued.
