I clean them every 2 days. What about you? My husband thinks that I should do it every day. We argue about it all the time.

Curious how often others do it.

Don't own one myself, but I sometimes have to take care of my dad's. Generally do it every day or day and a half.

Funny story about a cat box I heard. A guy his brother and a friend were playing videogames and smoking weed after highschool one day. They dared the brother to take a dump in the cat box. He did it. They have a laugh. They continue to play video games. At one point they even go out to get McDonalds. They forget about the brother taking a dump in the cat box. Few hours later mom comes home. Ten minutes later mom is freaking out "there is something wrong with the cat"!

We have the Litter Robot. It's essentially a sphere filled with litter and a bag-lined drawer underneath. When the cat steps in/out it triggers a timer. Seven minutes later, the sphere rotates, all the clean litter slides unto a pouch, and all the clumped litter falls into the drawer.

All I need to do is change the bag once a week. Every month or two we'll clean out the Robot and use a regular litter. In that case, I usually clean it out every couple of hours.

Have two automated cleaners and use the crystals.

The systems count how often she uses the boxes. Funny she uses one for pee and one for poop lol

They last weeks.

This has nothing to do with the topic, but Ive heard using pine is much safer than the crap at the grocery store.

The crystals can obstruct their urination (if they get in there) and leaving you with an option of 1) costly surgery 2) a decision to put them down

Also I think cleaning it every single day is obsessive.

I've used clumping litter all my life through at least a dozen cats and it has never caused a detrimental problem. One had an allergic reaction though which made her ass raw, went away when got her a separate box with normal rock litter which she gladly took to.

Lol Ive tried that. But he always brings up that I wanted the cats so theyre my responsibility. But he whines about the box constantly, it drives me crazy.

Ive really been wanting to get that! My husband thinks its too expensive though and rolls his eyes when I ask for one.

Depends on the box though, we have 4 cats and 5 boxes. One needs scooped every day and changed once a week, one gets scooped every other day and changed every other week, and the other ones get scooped once a week and changed once a month.
