$550 for a plane ticket that probably would've been more like $300 if I'd gotten it when I knew I'd need it

is it weird that I feel guilt and shame over this?

tbh if the firm is big enough to comp your flights
the difference probably doesn't matter much to them

there must be others who have to take last-minute flights occasionally right

lol idk I'm sure it's happened but we're pretty small (maybe 20 F/T equivalent employees) and I'm sure it's coming out of a dedicated fund

so it will definitely be noticed, though I'm not sure that's why I feel bad about it per se

I mean in the grand scheme of things, I lost them like $300 max which is less than the hotel room costs a night so it's not like the end of the world

I guess I'm mostly asking if its weird to care about it considering it isnt my money

If you like your company and like buy into what they are doing it makes sense.

I don't care about my company or what I'm doing. I recently booked a business trip to St. Louis for $650 direct flight, most people are doing $300 1 stop in Dallas (so Seattle to Dallas to St. Louis.) that would put me up in the air for like 10-11 hours though so forget that noise.
