I'm assuming the only reason this game is more popular than PUBG is because it's free? I can see how some people appreciate the building aspect, but I'm really not a fan. It turns gunfights into wall building fights. Just a ridiculous meta IMO. I prefer the stealthier, more suspenseful style of PUBG.

You can overbuild people. The game imo is only fun when you adopt the strategies of the best players. I push everything and use building as mobile cover. Using it to simply defend and camp is boring.

Fortnite literally does EVERYTHING better than PUBG does and then some imo
Except having campers and taking 20 mins to get into any action

People that hate the building are usually just new and suck at it
Ive seen a TON of people hate Fortnite at first then they learn to love it

Also the gun fighting is complete dodo so the build meta is A-ok in my book.

There are a couple of reasons. I like the art style and I think it runs better than what I've ever seen PUBG run - it just feels like a more casual, fun experience to me. Like PUBG looks incomplete, even now - Fortnite just has its shit together in a way that PUBG doesn't, if you ask me.

Yeah, absolutely. I never would have given it a chance if it wasn't free, and I think that's a big reason as to why it's gotten such a foothold in the gaming world. I mean it would have been a big "maybe" even for around $20, but for free? Well, I've played nearly 60 hours of it on my Switch, played daily since it came out.

I'm not super big on the building mechanics though, I'm just down to run around and shoot some player-controlled mooks.

I went into Fortnite thinking it was a dumb, yet fun, meme game. Dancing around with noskins in 50v50 was fun.

About 60 hours of playing later, I caved in and bought the Battle Pass. It turns Fortnite BR into a real game. Ever since then, I've been hooked. I've also gotten a little better.

I understand why many dislike the game. Bullshit can happen easily, especially with that guy who picks up a shotgun first.

That being said, if Fortnite costed money, I'd never try it.
