I think the most interesting thing is how so many people oppose it because they try to make it seem more complex than it really is.

It isn't. It's simple.

Humans may well be done evolving, at least in the manner that got us to where we are.
The human brain cannot get much larger, or adult females will lose the ability to walk upright.

How fucking insanely divergent it can be. Like, something that makes one species dominate the planet could be absolutely lethal in the wrong environment.

i find it incredibly interesting that, in order to function, all life as we know it depends on the endosymbiotic relationship between eukaryotic cells and mitochondria, and if that symbiosis never formed then complex organisms probably would not have evolved at all. it's especially interesting when you consider that this merging of a mitochondrion and a prokaryote that formed said symbiosis happened exactly once in life's evolutionary record. just makes you think of the astronomical odds of any of us or anything we know even existing.

Probably the biggest event in the history of earth.

Like how the f it even happened. Everything bigger than a toenail is descendant of that first fusion

The part I find most fascinating is the chemical evolution that lead up to the first working cell as we'd define it. RNA in its various forms, sizes and composition that came from the environment and then started working with and shaping the environment as its chemical stability and configuration started coalescing.

Trying to figure out how life survived without simple biological functions we take for granted.

What evolved first? Blood or the ability to clot? Was there just a million years of animals that bled out after minor wounds?

Was breathing always an "automatic" function or was there a species that had to do it manually?

Speaking of, what was eating like before the epiglottis? Or the tongue?

And then there are questions like, what did the first land animals eat? Were they lucky their digestive systems could handle an entirely new world of food? And when did they start eating each other?

Do all animals come from a common anscestor, or did multiple instances of complex life evolving from single-celled organisms happen?

And why did after one little fight my mom get scared, and say youre moving with your auntie and uncle in bel air?

Evolution is a mystery. Full of change that no one sees. Clock makes a fool of history. Yesterdays too long ago, dont agree with what I know. Tomorrow becomes the place to be. See my reflection change. Nothing ever stays the same. But you know the names the game. We all know what it means.
Nothings ever what it seems. Unforgiven, unforeseen.

I see the line in the sand.Time to find out who I am.
Looking back to see where I stand.

Evolution. Evolution.

I find what we don't know yet to be most interesting, we can intuitively grasp small changes + millions of years = big changes but when did atoms start "eating" each other?

I'd assume that a fluid membrane system came about first considering things like xylem and phloem in trees and also things like slime molds. On top of that, the sharing and transferring of nutrients would likely have been selected first before getting the kinks worked out.

Was breathing always an "automatic" function or was there a species that had to do it manually?

Well, breathing air would likely have been a manual effort for the first creature to walk on land instead of living in the water, but I don't have much of an answer beyond that.

RNA itself is the great mystery.
It's a chain of simple aromatic molecules and simple sugars. How did they somehow become the program for proteins?

I mean, its an observable fact, much like gravity. Would you consider someone who doesnt believe in gravity to be highly intelligent?
