RvB was recognized by Bungie or whatever and the whole thing kind of exploded. That and they were early enough to just about every facet of the internet as we know it so they were able to ride the waves to the top.

This. Plus RWBY being an unexpected big hit also helped their popularity jump up a lot too.

Their main podcast is one of my favorites, so I'm subscribed to them for essentially that plus their occasional founder stuff (including literally anything that Joel's in). Most of their scripted stuff stinks and their game show is just really bad. Mostly transitioned into following their Funhaus channel for gameplay stuff.

And there's Achievement Hunter which took off alongside let's plays as a source of entertainment and were one of the first groups to really focus on the production aspect of it. They also basically cornered the market on Minecraft videos early on and to top it off, they own the channel name LetsPlay, so you can imagine what that does for their metrics.

Oh dang didn't know he finally sobered up. I remember him having a scare with his liver and then he went right back to drinking and everyone was like "geoff why." Hope he stays free of it.

He's so much better in videos too. You can really tell how his mood has changed since he stopped drinking. Even with his divorce, which seems like it's mutual and on as-good-as-a-divorce-can-be terms, he seems like he is having a much better time recording videos.

p sure he went sober to try and salvage his marriage, it lines up with his hiatus and when they announced all that stuff, but man the signs were there, remember when griffon started an asmr channel with her friend?
