I'm really excited. Usually it's around 2.5-3k per month but since I paid off all my debt two months ago I can save a bit more.

Weight lifted.

You can always look at a different career path and state that has higher salaries. It's completely achievable to anyone.

You have the wrong outlook. You're not "stuck". You just need to plan accordingly and change you habits to save as much as you can possibly. After that take the plunge and make a move. Anyone can do it.

Me and my gf work at the same place. She does not drive because she is terrified, some kinda phobia. We work the same schedule so it's easier on me. If I Ieft my job and got another one she wouldn't have a way to get to work. Sure I could always dump her and get a new job but I'd have to find another job that would pay me an extra $12 an hour just to make what we make now just to break even. So no its not my "outlook", I'm literally stuck

Has she seen someone regarding this? She'll be dependent on others for the rest of her life if she doesn't sort out what's going on here.

Bro I've been trying for almost 3 years now. It's incredibly inconvenient and holds us back. We've built a decent life but our ability for growth is greatly restricted. Like I said I could dump her but I need her to help pay bills so there would be no point, it would only just destroy both of us financially

She thinks it's pointless cause she'll never get over it. I blame her family, her brother and mom are the same way and like reinforce it on each other. Everyone in her family gets driven around by the grandmother. When she dies I have no fucking clue what they are gonna do

Sometimes cutting the bad people out of your life is necessary. Three years of being with someone with no drive will get worst. Trust me. You need someone who will motivate you and that you can motivate.

It's your outlook and and choice that is holding you back. Pain is growth.

Lol fuck them. I'd pull away laughing. Her dad and brother couldn't even be bothered to come to our house for Christmas and she was really excited and had bought them a bunch of gifts. It was fucking heartbreaking. Her mom is a good person though

Why would she seek any help when she has you to enable her?

My sister doesn't drive either. She also has a phobia after an incident on the road. She just took public transportation every day to get to work, often in freezing ass weather. Her husband took the car. Now she found a job where she can work from home.

Also why couldnt you find another job and just carpool? You could leave extra early to drop her off. Theres a girl at my work whose husband drops her off every morning on his way to work and picks her up every day on the way back.

Sounds like excuses tbh.

I mean he also said he's using her for money. It's not just about dumping her and moving on.

Not really "using" her, we need each other to survive basically. Also she's a manager and I'm head of security, it's retail so we don't have set schedules. One day we go in at 8am the next we go in at 3pm, if I had another job there's no way I could guarantee she could make it to work every shift.

if we assume 50% tax rate, living/life expenses of $2k per month, then (2k+4k)/0.5 = 12k salary per month, so ~$150k salary

definitely not enough to brag about, hope you get at least double that as an annual bonus
