No one cares what China thinks. The country is racist and xenophobic as fuck.
Too bad they're the next big Global Super Power and has far more $, influence, and reach then you ever could have.

They're literally sticking their mitts everywhere around the world.

Their opinion will carry weight.

Luke had a long time to brood. There was always a darkness to him anyway, beneath the surface.

The chase wasn't as dumb as people seem to think. The Empire went in cautiously, knowing they had the upper hand and would shortly grind down the rebels. The rebels on the other hand devised a good plan that hinged on a prolonged chase that would let them reach the hidden base.

When it became apparent their plan was screwed, they suicided their flagship to buy time and deal some damage.

The casino planet was commentary. It showed us what the wider Universe thinks about the conflict and how they make mad cash because of the continuous war. It's actually a lot darker than I expected SW to go under Disney.

But hey flame the movie because a lot of this flew past you.

The plan was stupid. They should have evacuated all the personnel and fuel from the smaller ships to Home One, then jumped to lightspeed again.

Literally nobody would have died.

I have a bigger problem with the other issue this fine Chinese reviewer pointed out over the Luke thing: the bad guys. They fail as bad guys, and by that I mean they're not convincing. They come off as a joke. Hux is a comedy routine, and Snoke is undeveloped. Kylo is interesting but one guy can only do so much. The new trilogy doesn't have good enough antagonists to deliver the desired level of conflict and drama. It feels so stale and impersonal.

The OT had three main bad guys. Tarkin died in the first movie, and the emperor isn't seen until the third movie (and even then, his entire character is "mwahaha, I'm evil!"). Vader was interesting but one guy can only do so much.

I know you posted this to counter my point, but you kinda proved it honestly by reminding me the OT had better villains. Tarkin was a better, more serious, believable version of Hux with a classic, great actor, Palpatine is one of my favorite movie villains of all time, with an amazingly entertaining performance, and tons of build up to him even if we don't see him until later in the series, and Vader is Vader.

Also, just as a side note here, just wanted to chat about Snoke. Defenders compare him to the Emperor and say that he didn't have a lot of explanation either. But the thing about that, is that when the OT came out, we didn't know what happened in the years before. So we were free to dwell on it, to come up with our own ideas, to bask in the mystery of this character and wonder how he came to be. But with Snoke, we DO know what happened int he years before hand! Darth Vader, the Emperor, the Clone Wars, the rebellion, the Siths, the rule of two, Darth Maul, we know so much! So it's just annoying and frustrating how this guy popped up out of nowhere. Instead of being mysterious, it's just dumb, like, "oh, I guess this super strong force dude was just hanging out in the shadows during all those events?" It's not the same as the Emperor at all.

That's dumb that the Emperor is cool because we know know nothing about him yet Snoke sucks because we know nothing about him. You can speculate about Snoke just as much because we don't know much of anything that happened between RotJ and TFA.

You can accept the emperor inherently, though, because nothing prior had been established. The whole only two sith thing makes it difficult to understand where he could have even come from.

They're being whiney. I think the movie is fine. The part about the casino planet is dumb, but I enjoyed the rest. It's the best Star Wars movie I've ever seen (haven't seen the original three though).
