Staying over at your friend's houses just isn't a thing people my age do anymore. Maybe after a night of heavy drinking at the bar or something you might crash on their couch but if not, it's just not something that is done. You can no longer hangout with your boys and play Super Smash Bros all night long and then crack jokes as everyone hangs around in your room and falls asleep.

Now you just have everyone come over at 7 and play Smash Bros until 11 and then everyone goes home.

People have work in the morning.

I have people stay over often enough...but they never seem to be like actual sleepovers you have as a kid.

now it seems like it happens mostly because people are too lazy to drive home late in the evening past midnight or if I picked them up I dont feel like it.

I didn't start driving until around that age. It's not worth worrying about what others think. If you all want to hang around all night playing games then what's stopping you (besides work)?

Just wait until you turn 40. A 9 pm bed time starts looking really nice.

I stopped having sleepovers when I went to college. Lucky me, I lived in a suite style dorm for my first few years and shared a living space with 7 other dudes, all of which but one was a gamer. Many nights were spent up until 2 or 3 gaming.

You can still do it. I know a lot of people that still do it. I do agree that it's usually because someone'd drunk or too lazy to drive home. But people still do it sober, too. If we don't have work tomorrow, we play games all night. Why not? Play games, watch Netflix/Hulu/YouTube/etc..., order pizza, eat pizza, and just hang out in general. Like argonautweakend said, it might not be a conventional sleepover like when you were a kid, but you can still do it...

Oh, I just realized that I totally had a sleepover this weekend.

Some people were coming over for a Con, and they crashed and use the house as a base of operations for the convention.

My parents were cool with sleepovers. As a kid, I had a couple where I was allowed to have, like, ten friends over. That was awesome.

As a 27 year old, I might hang out with a friend, play games, watch movies and they can crash on my couch if we get too drunk/high. Or we'll go out til 7am and we can crash at mine if the friend can't drive home (I live dead centre of town)

But yeah, as an adult, you don't tend to invite a load of friends round with the intention of everybody sleeping in the same place.

Sleeping at someone elses house wasn't the defining factor of a sleepover, though. As a kid you only stay over because it would be the middle of the night and you can't get yourself home.

Idk what you're talking about tc, I'm 27 and married and I still have people stay here / stay at peoples places relatively often. Much more often than I would when I was a kid.

Last year I even would go to one friend's house every other Monday to drink and play videogames and then stay over. Until our schedules changed that is.

No, I think it generally still happens. But think about it; people generally prefer to wake up in their own bed and not in some other place.
