Open relationships suck. I would know as my ex basically (without my consent) decided to make our marriage an open one, only he got super bent out of shape if I showed interest in other people. He basically wanted to cheat on me with no consequences tbh

See, but that would be your specific opinion on how you view what relationship should be, and I can't argue against that. In fact, I don't disagree with you, but not everybody views relationships like we do. Our interpretation of what's right in a relation doesn't define everyone else.
