Congrats. You just publicly declared to everyone that you are ridiculously easy to brainwash.

Let's put the U.S. in there and ignore Egypt, where 99.3% of women said they've been sexually harassed.

Source?

It was based on a UN report.

Odd that all those South and Central American women are making such a treacherous journey to come to an even more dangerous place.

In fact, maybe we should secure our southern borders so that we can ensure that the illegal migrant families are kept safe from America.

That's what people don't understand. We're building the wall to keep them safe on the other side of the border. Feminists and loony left women are not safe here. They should head south and go to a more secure country...like Mexico.

Nevermind the rest (which are all correct) are you actually going to try to tell me that women in Egypt have it better off than here?

My old manager at work was born in Egypt and grew up there. His words: "Women there are considered shit." He was going through a custody battle with a U.S. born woman. He was consistently BLOWN AWAY at how in-favor-of-the-woman it all was - she was a total alcoholic (he showed me videos of her destroyed at 10 am laying down in their driveway) and the courts couldn't have cared less, because woman.

Why are you blaming CNN for this?

I'll agree that this looks a bit weird, especially when they outright say that a big reason the US climbed is because of all the reports of sexual misconduct following #metoo. It should surprise no one that that misconduct was there all along, and more importantly you'd have to be seriously tunnel-visioned to believe that these kinds of structures are somehow more prevalent in the US than elsewhere.

Now, of course there could be other things to look at and measure. Comparisons like these are never straightforward, because you have to find a proper weighting of different factors. How much weight do you put on things like legislation and public structures, like maternity leave, access to abortion, etc., compared to statistics of crime happening? How to define "dangerous" will always be tricky and contentious, and the results won't ever be very accurate considering there's so much crime and shit going on that doesn't get reported. The #metoo thing is a good example of just that.

Anyway I would expect the US to end up higher on the list than people here would be comfortable with, but 10th place because #metoo revealed some unreported sexual abuse? No way.

actually you sound stupid. like completely stupid.

the survey took into account lack of health care, economic resources, traditional practices, sexual and non-sexual abuse. so i dont know if you know this but most of the countries you listed have economic resources, limited as they may be be they have enough to provide their female populations. for christ sakes brazil and mexico are the two biggest economies in latin america. not to mention morocco is the 2nd richiest economy in africa and after doing some research violent crimes against women are very low there. you are in fact stupid.

Of course it's fucking CNN. What a load of absolute pig shit.
And CNN and people in general act surprised and shocked when the president calls them fake news. I mean for god sake. If they don't want that moniker then don't publish such obvious fake bs like that.
And just for snark sake. Ohhhh America is ranked 10 because of the MeToo movement. Well then if we're including that shit as a qualifier and probably all that other nonsense like a woman being hit on is the same as rape and how air conditioning is assault perpetrated by the evil patriarchy then no wonder.
Here, let me make of some bs of my own that's on an equivalent level of journalistic integrity.
If cow farts are the same thing a gold dust that deposits on the ground like dew in the morning then Texas has the most billionaire aphids per capita than all first world countries combined.
I mean mother fucking shit! This is the sort of preposterous bs that passes a "news" today.

also @GreatEvilEmpire, im curious to learn as to how you came up with such a random list of countries YOU think are worse than the US without giving an explanation or statistics to back up these bogus claims lol.

did you think simply listing off a buncha random 3rd world countries somehow gave you credibility? lmao!? it doesnt work that way buddy. if youre gonna throw a buncha random countries under the bus you better have a damn good argument and stats to back up your claims or youre gonna get exposed by people like me who love calling out MAGAs like you.

Those countries have been on the list for years. Those countries are not random. They've been known for years as places where women get sexually harassed often. You lack common sense and you're blinded by your silly hate for this country. I'm not gonna do any research for you. You have Google, go find it yourself.

https://www.counterpunch.org/2017/12/15/the-most-dangerous-place-for-mexican-women-is-in-the-streets/

In Mexico, from 2012 to 2015, 10,010 women were murderedseven a day, according to data from the National Health Information System (Sinais).

Brazil:

Columbia:
Colombia's war-time rape victims silenced and without justice

Of the 3, Colombia is the only one that claim that women are relatively safe giving that the Colombia Conflict is at a fragile peace. Women in Brazil are constantly being sexually harassed, groped and raped by men, with many going unreported. Laws are lax against public sexual harassment. And Mexico? Don't tell me about Mexico and women being safe. If they're so safe, they wouldn't be banging on the border walls to be let into the U.S.

lmao independent uk. kinda dopey site is that!? they provide no links to back up their claims.

also the survey were sitting here arguing about took into account violent crime against women and also many other aspects like health care.... youre hyper focusing on ONE of the criteria.

you can find crimes against women in any country youre missing the point here, brazil and other places you mentioned have the resources to care for victims of assault whereas places that made the worst places for womens like afghanistan and india dont have jack in terms of healthcare

"Dangerous to women"

What part of that don't you understand? And why are you comparing Brazil to India when everyone knows India is up there near the top?

You've been trying to compare those countries to the US and you've failed miserably. Outside of a few countries in Europe, the US. is one of the safest places for women in the world. That's a fact, not some political opinion.

You want to see what the world is really like without the political nonsense?

http://www.womanstats.org/maps.html

Compare every map and you will find that U.S. is one of the best in the world.
