false. if you watched his videos, that's not his issue. his favorite star wars characters is Ahsoka, a girl.

SJWs are a bogeyman used by people who hold archaic and stupid beliefs so they can blame them in some sort of nebulous, conspiracy. They claim it's a group that doesn't have membership, no one claims to be part of it, and any discussion with their critics is instantly derailed by name calling someone as an SJW. The whole thing is just Illuminati 2.0, but somehow it achieved more legitimacy.

Every single argument could be summed up with, "well, I'm mad that standards have changed and I need someone to blame for the fact that I don't want to change my opinion about anything". Their ideal situation is literally just to pay lip service to things like civil rights or female empowerment while every single piece of media reverts to the 1930's standards.

Like, there may be some legitimate complaints about certain pieces of media, but they get buried in a flood of backwards assholes yelling about how even suggesting a woman can be a lead is offensive. On top of that, they call it 'pandering' to try and make it some sort of shameful exploitation, but in reality, every single piece of media that is created to sell has appealed to the standards of the their time and that practice was never considered unreasonable until suddenly these guys were in the minority.

I don't get why it's so hard for people to figure out they're not 'pandering to SJW's' but that they're trying to appeal to a broader market.

If a whole bunch of little girls get into Star Wars because of Rey that's a much bigger audience for them to build on in the future.

You guys need to calm down. Star Wars has never been known for good writing. George Lucas couldn't write a character with depth if his life depended on it. Look at the prequel trilogy. The only reason the original trilogy didn't shit the bed was because he had people around to help reign his crazy ideas in.
